Argentina is definately a carnivores paradise. Mike is loving it and has probably consumed a whole cow since he arrived. I, on the other hand, am finding it hard to find anything on the menu that resembles vegetables.
But don't worry, I am not fading away there are many other delectables to take care of my calories!
Buenos Aires is known for its elaborate pastries. They are both beautiful looking and delicious. The italian influence is apparent in dishes like pizza, ravioli and spaghetti. Empanadas, baked or fried turnovers with meat, chicken or ham and cheese are a staple, and great as a snack.
And of course, helado, ice cream. The most delicious flavor being Dulce de Leche, which is thick caramel sauce that the Argentians put on and in everything.
Alfajores are cookie sandwiches filled with dulce de leche and covered with chocolate, what more could you want.

Soy milk is hard to come by, as is peanut butter, but we were able to find both in China Town, and stocked up.

I hate to confess that we have visited the evil empire of Starbucks twice. They have soy milk, so I can have a break from the world of tea. Keira was disappointed not to see cake pops but has filled the void with ice cream.

Like most other countries, McDonalds has made an appearance.

That is all for now on the edibles front. Will keep you posted as to any other discoveries. Need to teach Mike portion control on the "bife" and on the litre bottles of cervesa. Wish me luck.

The kids finally finished off your wonderful chocolates! We missed you at Nutcracker, but think about you all the time. Enjoy some ice cream for us. How's the coffee? Hugs to Ms. K. Love you guys!

Beef and beer... I sometimes try to imagine the Mike that never met you, and what (size) he would be : ) Scary. Anyway, sounds like he's got most of his food groups covered... Love.
